Weight & Body Confidence
Feel better in your body. Feel more relaxed around food and make healthy choices without pressure or perfection.
Feel More in Control Around Food - Without Another Diet
Most of us already know what we “should” eat and what helps us feel healthier. You may have tried diets, counted calories, cut out certain foods or promised yourself that this time will be different. Most of us know the basics of eating well; the harder part is making those choices consistently when life, stress and emotions get in the way.
When you’re stressed, exhausted, lonely or overwhelmed, food can become more than food. It can offer comfort, reward, soothing, distraction or a way to switch off - even when you are not actually hungry. Then comes the guilt, the self-criticism and another promise to start again tomorrow.
If that cycle feels familiar, the issue may not be a lack of discipline. Often, there is more going on underneath the eating than food alone. With personalised RTT® and hypnotherapy, we can explore the habits, emotions, and beliefs influencing your choices, so you can feel calmer, more in control, and more supportive of yourself.
Does This Feel Familiar?
Perhaps you:
eat when you are stressed, tired, bored, lonely or emotionally overwhelmed;
reach for chocolate, sugar, crisps or other comfort foods as a pick-me-up;
start picking or grazing and find it hard to stop;
have “good” periods followed by a return to old habits;
feel embarrassed or secretive about some of your eating;
struggle to make time for exercise or other things that help you feel good;
feel increasingly self-conscious or critical of your body;
You may need to understand what keeps pulling you back towards food when another part of you wants something different.
What’s Really Driving the Eating?
Food is not only about physical hunger. It can become connected with comfort, reward, love, relief, safety, celebration or a moment for you.
After a difficult day, you might think:
“I deserve this.”
“I need something.”
“It will make me feel better.”
“I’ll start again tomorrow.”
Sometimes eating becomes a familiar response to stress, tiredness, loneliness, boredom or needing comfort, often before you have even noticed what you are feeling.
When we begin to understand what is happening in those moments, it becomes easier to work with the pattern rather than relying on willpower or feeling that you need to try harder.

When Life Gets Busy, Healthy Habits Can Be the First to Go
When work is demanding, or you are taking care of everyone else, those things can start to feel like another item on an already full list.
You finish work exhausted. You do not want to cook. Convenience wins. Exercise gets pushed to tomorrow.
I spent more than 20 years working in demanding corporate marketing and technology environments, so I understand how easily your own needs can disappear when work and other responsibilities consume your time and energy.
The answer does not have to be pushing yourself harder. Sometimes it is about helping healthier choices feel less like another demand and more like something you genuinely want to do for yourself.
You Can Want Change and Still Be Kind to Your Body
Weight loss may be one of your goals. You might also want to feel lighter, healthier, stronger, more energetic or more comfortable in your clothes.
But when every attempt starts from “I hate how I look”, “I need to get this under control” or “I’ve let myself go”, taking care of yourself can begin to feel like punishment. You can want to change your weight and still respect the body you have today.
You can make healthier choices because you want to feel good, have more energy and take care of yourself, rather than because you are constantly criticising yourself into changing.
There is a big difference between: “I need to fix my body” and “I want to take care of my body because it matters to me.”
When You Want to Exercise but Keep Putting It Off.
Sometimes it is tiredness. But movement can also become associated with pressure, weight loss, punishment, or something you “should” be doing. And when exercise starts to feel like something you have to force yourself through, it becomes much easier to avoid.
You do not have to become someone who loves the gym or follows the perfect exercise routine.
The goal is to find ways of moving your body that feel supportive, achievable and worth doing for how they make you feel — not because you are trying to correct your body.

How We’ll Work Together
Personalised RTT® and hypnotherapy for eating habits, weight and body confidence.
There is no standard reason someone struggles with food, weight or body confidence, so each session is personalised for you.
We start with your particular pattern - what triggers it, what happens around food, how you respond afterwards and what you would genuinely like to feel and do differently.
Using RTT® and hypnotherapy, we can explore the habits, beliefs and emotional associations underneath that pattern. For one person, eating may be connected with stress; for someone else, reward, habit, boredom or difficult emotions.
You make the discoveries; my role is to guide the process and help you work with what emerges.
Your personalised recording is created specifically from the work we do together, using the language, insights and changes that are meaningful to you.
Imagine Feeling More at Ease Around Food
Imagine being able to:
notice that you are stressed without automatically reaching for food;
enjoy chocolate, dessert or a favourite meal without feeling that you have ruined everything;
stop eating when you have had enough rather than feeling compelled to keep going;
have an imperfect day without feeling that one choice has ruined everything
move your body because it feels good rather than because you need to make up for something you ate;
look at your body with greater kindness instead of immediately finding fault;
work towards your weight and health goals in a more sustainable, supportive way.
When we work with the subconscious mind, you can find the root cause of your overeating, change it, and reprogram it so you can feel calmer, more conscious, and make better food choices and exercise more.
Small Changes Still Count
Feeling healthier does not have to mean transforming everything overnight. Often, the ordinary things make the biggest difference when they become easier to repeat: drinking more water, stopping when you have had enough, making yourself a proper meal, going for a walk, moving your body, getting enough rest, or recognising what you actually need in that moment.
The key is consistency and better habits, not perfection!
You can eat the chocolate, miss a workout, have a takeaway or go through a difficult week and still take care of yourself afterwards. One day does not undo everything, and you do not have to keep starting again
The aim is to build healthier habits that work in real life - habits that support your wellbeing, feel achievable, and help you take care of yourself with greater consistency and kindness.
“Any amount of physical activity is better than none, and more is better.”

Weight & Food Habits FAQs
-
Weight loss may be part of what you want, but the work is broader than simply trying to make you eat less.
We look at the habits, triggers, emotions and beliefs that may be making it difficult to consistently make the choices you want to make - as well as how you feel about yourself and your body.
The focus is on helping you create a healthier, more supportive relationship with food, your body and the everyday choices that affect how you feel.
-
That is incredibly common.
Most people do not need someone to tell them that vegetables, movement and balanced meals are good for them.
Knowing what helps you and consistently choosing it when you are stressed, tired or overwhelmed are two very different things.
Our work focuses on what happens in that gap.
-
I work with RTT®, hypnotherapy and EMDR, and the approach we use will depend on you, what you would like help with and what feels most appropriate for your situation.
RTT® and hypnotherapy can help us explore the habits, beliefs and emotional associations connected with your eating patterns, body confidence or motivation. EMDR is a different therapeutic approach and may be useful when particular experiences, emotions or triggers are contributing to a pattern.
We will talk through what has been happening before deciding how best to work together. There is no one-size-fits-all process.
-
No. I do not prescribe diets or meal plans.
Our work focuses on the psychological and emotional patterns influencing your choices. Nutritional or medical advice should come from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
-
Will I have to give up chocolate, sugar or foods I enjoy?
No.
The goal is not to create another list of “good” and “bad” foods or make you frightened of eating something you enjoy.
For many people, the desired outcome is greater balance - being able to enjoy food without guilt, obsession or feeling that once you start you have ruined everything.
-
Yes. For some people, the way they speak to themselves about their body causes almost as much distress as the eating itself.
We can explore the beliefs and experiences influencing how you see yourself, so you can work towards feeling more comfortable and supportive towards your body - whether or not weight loss is also one of your goals.
-
It depends on your particular pattern.
For a clearly defined habit or trigger, we may begin with one focused RTT® session and see what you notice afterwards.
If food, weight or body confidence is connected with several longstanding patterns - perhaps stress, self-esteem, grief, trauma or difficult experiences - more time may be helpful.
We can decide together what feels like the right starting point.
-
RTT® uses hypnotherapy to help us explore the experiences, meanings and beliefs connected with the pattern you want to change.
You remain aware and able to talk throughout the session.
You make the discoveries; my role is to guide the process, help you work with what emerges and keep the session focused on the changes you want to create.
Afterwards, I create a personalised recording based on the work we have done together.

While Rapid Transformational Therapy® and hypnosis can be incredibly effective, they’re not the right fit for everyone. RTT is not recommended for those who:
Are currently experiencing severe mental health crises (like active psychosis or severe bipolar episodes)
Have untreated epilepsy or certain neurological conditions
Are unwilling or unable to engage in the process openly and honestly
Expect a quick fix without commitment to the journey of change – listening to the audio for 21 days consistently
If you have any concerns or complex mental health issues, it’s important to speak with a healthcare professional first. RTT® works best when you’re ready to take an active role in healing and growth.
-
Yes, absolutely. In fact, many people find online sessions more effective - they’re in their own space, more relaxed, and free from the stress of travel or rushing to appointments. You will need a trusty wifi and a comfortable safe place, where you can relax and not be disturbed and away from interruptions. Transformation can happen right from the comfort of home.
-
These factors can influence appetite, energy and body weight, so appropriate medical support remains important.
RTT can help with related stress, habits, emotional eating or body confidence, but it does not diagnose or treat an underlying medical or hormonal condition.
From Self-Soothing to Healthier Choices
Part of my issue was using food to self-soothe after a busy day, eating far too much chocolate and snacking, rather than cooking. After my session, I noticed I was drinking much more water and making better food choices. I actually felt turned off by fattier foods and didn’t want to put “bad” food into my body. Over a month after my session, I had lost 3.5 kilos.

I had a session with Nerissa because I am in a transition period, and I felt overwhelmed with everything. This also showed up as a strong resistance towards working out. My intention is to take care of my body and be healthy, but somehow I just couldn’t bring myself to exercise. From the first interaction, I felt like I'd landed in the right place for me.
Nerissa listened and asked the right questions. The session was revealing. What came up was incredible and spot-on. The session helped me a lot to move forward and include working out in my routine; however, from a place of self-respect and love. I cannot recommend Nerissa enough if you feel stuck and are looking for a breakthrough that just hasn’t been happening. Thank you, Nerissa :)

Greater control around food & reduced cravings
I had EMDR for chocolate cravings, and I’ve been really surprised by the results. Since my session, my cravings have reduced significantly, and I feel much more in control around food.
It’s made a noticeable difference to my day-to-day habits, and I feel much more balanced.
